Hi all. After a great many number of years publishing here, I’ve decided to move away from this particular project for the time being. There are a lot of reasons to softly close the door on my WordPress site, the main one being that one of my most dedicated readers passed away not too long ago and I’ve been having a very hard time thinking about something I wrote just sitting, forever unopened, in his inbox. Losing people is weird. Grief is weird. And you truly never realize what seemingly small thing just becomes unbearably painful until one day it does.
But don’t worry, I will be writing again. Hopefully more often! I have been convinced to start a little Substack, since that’s where the people are these days (or so I’ve been told). I wanted to name it something completely new, but I fucked up and though I gave the project itself a new name I panicked and the URL is still franklyrebekah. Oh well. Old habits die hard.
Anyway, for the good stuff. My new project is called The Raia Diaries, and you can read my very first post here. It’s going to be the same snarky me, only this time a little bit more Jewish. I hope to see you over there. And for those who are like “nah, I’m good,” I really hope it’s not because of the Jewish thing. If it is, you got some work to do.
